Expertise in Construction Law
Walsh & Walsh, P.C. provides cost-effective representation to property owners and businesses in the construction trade. Our business clients include general contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers, but we have also represented private owners, municipalities, lenders (both private and institutional) and sureties. In addition to matters such as disputes over delays, change orders, scope of work, workmanship, stop notices, mechanic's liens and bond claims, we are also available to assist clients in matters such as collection, professional liability, labor and employment problems, partnership disputes, unfair competition and other business torts. We are experienced at handling construction defect litigation and Calderon Act mediations.
Recent engagements include successfully defending and pursuing scores of mechanic's lien, stop notice and payment bond claims; a defense judgment in a soil subsidence action brought against the project lender; a defense ruling in an arbitration between shareholders of a general contracting corporation; representation of a general contractor in summary proceedings to release funds withheld by a public works stop notice; representation of homeowners in construction defect actions; and three zero-payment settlements on behalf of a concrete contractor sued for indemnity in connection with water instruction claims on three different projects.
